Walk to Rhaoin Settlement [SU]
4 October 2017
Starts: 14:00
Ends: 17:00

Using information from estate archives we will link the ruins of the cleared settlement at Rhaoin with the people who lived there.  The settlement was tack of Gordon with 9 subtenants, but cleared in 1811 for a sheep farm. People went across the hill and took their timbers. Montrose is said to have camped here prior to Carbisdale battle. Meet at the war memorial on the A839 at Pittentrail, Rogart.

Free/donations welcome. Children welcome with adult and dogs on leads. Bring a packed lunch/snack. Walk level 2.
