Join National Trust for Scotland staff as we travel back in time to try our hands at traditional craft and would be essential household chores. Create a rush light, bake some oatcakes and have a go at natural dyeing.
This event is a mixture of guided walk and hands on activities set on the shores of an upland loch. We will be covering a walking distance of 1.5 miles/2km with one fairly steep and long descent (Walk level 2). We will explore some of the more remote parts of Balmacara Estate and we will investigate some recent history in the surroundings of an abandoned settlement.
Meeting place given out on booking. Depending on demand persons may be required to car share as parking is very limited. Children welcome with adults. Bring a packed lunch. Adults £5, children £2.
