E111b - Dingwall Walk 1 - Dingwall's Thousand Years
18 October 2019
Starts: 11:00
Ends: 12:00

Once more, as part of Dingwall’s very own Arts Festival Word on the Street, resident Walking Talker Jonathan McColl, one of  Dingwall’s clued-up historians, will guide you through the town on a specially prepared guided tour.

People and subjects covered range from the biggest town house built for a local landowner and showing the French influence of the pre-Revolutionary day, through the hundred-year-old memories of a hundred-year-old woman that take us back from the 21st Century to the 18th, and taking in Canada’s Hudson Bay Company and the North-West Passage to the Pacific, the Earls of Cromartie, the Stevenson family lighthouses and the Viking settlements in the area before and during the life of Macbeth.

Meet on the High Street outside Renato's. Free, donations welcome. Part of the Word on the Street Festival.

This walk will be offered on Thursday 17th, Friday 18th and Saturday 20th.
