HAF 2017 Photography Competition

The Scottish Highlands have such as wealth of visible heritage! For the HAF 2017 festival 95 pictures were submitted showing a range of Highland heritage in all seasons. The theme was Highland Archaeology: celebrating archaeology, history and heritage, and submissions were invited from under 16s or 16 and older.

There were pictures of sites, buildings, museum objects and people enjoying our rich heritage from the Highland Council area and Moray. Entries came from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, Canada, U.S.A., New Zealand, Japan and Chile!

  • The entries have been posted on the website!
  • Shortlisted entries will be exhibited during HAF at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery 3rd-7th October and at Council Headquarters on 13th-15th October.

Prizes!

  • Under 16s: Prizes were kindly supplied by DigIt! 2017. All competitors will be sent a chocolate broch, and shortlisted entries will get DigIt! 2017 T-shirts and a Lego broch kit designed by Brick to the Past.
  • Over 16s: Many thanks to The National Trust for Scotland which supplied a year's membership and Historic Environment Scotland which provided a Family membership.  Free entry to the Highland Archaeology Festival Conference was also on offer.

Prizes will be announced at the Recent Archaeological Discoveries and Research conference in Inverness on Saturday 14th October, 9:40am.

Copyright of all entries remains with the photographer, but Highland Archaeology Festival will have the right to use the picture with proper credits, including on future brochures, websites and for the HER.
